SailTime Sailing School offers variety of RYA courses from beginner through Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper to Yachtmaster.

Upon completion of your course all students receive a $200 voucher toward your next course.

Having completed your course why not enjoy regular sailing in some of Australia great sailing destinations by becoming a SailTime member.

All student who complete a competent crew or higher course automatically receive a $400 discount off the SailTime membership  joining fee  plus SailTime members rates for all future training.

RYA Introduction To Sailing

Start Yachting is a short introduction to sailing for those new to sailing, including complete beginners conducted on board one our Cruising Yachts By the end of the two days you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and have knowledge of the various parts of the boat and the importance of safety on board.

RYA Competent Crew Course

RYA Competent Crew course is for those new to sailing who would like to learn to sail and become active crew members rather than just passengers. Learn to sail while living on board and getting to know the boat. Virtually all the course is hands on. You are the competent crew – without you the sails won’t go up and the boat won’t be steered. The course is 5 days in total and we run it over 2 weekends

RYA Day Skipper – Practical

The RYA day skipper practical is for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Day skippers learn complete a short ocean passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety. The RYA day skipper practical lets you experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and knowing what to do when it doesn’t. Once you have an RYA day skipper course completion certificate you can obtain your ICC (International Certificate of Competence). The course is 5 days in total and we run it over 2 weekends

ICC (International Certificate Of Competence).

This is an assessment course and assumes you have previous experience. You will need to be familiar with the ICC rules and requirements and to assist with this all students receive prior to the course a copy of the ICC assessment which explains the ICC in great detail– what it is, why it came about and who it applies to. Course duration 4 hours and scheduled to suit the participants, personal tuition prior to assessment is also available

RYA Coastal Skipper

RYA coastal skipper course trains in advanced skippering techniques for yachts men and women with considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation, wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. Each participant will skipper more challenging passages and learn more about passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling, safety and emergency situations. By the end of the coastal skipper course you should have the knowledge, if not the experience, to become a Yachtmaster. The course comprises a satisfying but intensive 5 days and 4 nights at sea.
